erotic writings of a sadist

To the untrained eye the people I find heroic [3. of impressive size, power, extent, or effect ] and worth acknowledging might be … disturbing.

What sort of person lists:

  • Patrick Bateman
  • Narcissus
  • Barbie
  • Jessica Rabbit
  • Scarlett O’Hara
  • TUCKER MAX
  • Marquis De Sade

These are not the only people, I have family/friends on the list as well, along with the cliche “Marilyn Monroe” entry, because, simply put – she is awesome. As for the choices I listed above…

Patrick Bateman is a fictional character created by Bret Easton Ellis from the novel American Psycho. He is a sociopathetic consumer (of high priced merchandise && human flesh) of the upper east side, NY in the late 1980s. He is the ultimate monster of excess and pleasure. He is ’sin’.

Narcissus is a mythological Greek character who was praised for his beauty. He drowned himself after gazing too deeply into a pool at his own reflection. While the tale of how or why he was gazing at himself varies in detail and origin – that is the overall summary, in brief.

Barbie should require no explanation as a product of the 1990s growing up in an upper middle class neighborhood wearing leggings and ruffled socks. On this note, Jessica Rabbit is very similar to Barbie and thus should not require explanation for the same reasons.

Scarlett O’Hara is one of the greatest literary characters of all time. Feel free to disagree with me – you will be wrong. Also, Vivien Leigh was a great Scarlett, until they put the film into techni-color and showed the truth, she was brunette with blue eyes (Scarlett had black hair and green eyes)

Tucker Max is a recent acquisition to my list. Feel free to google.com him and reveal for yourself the true debauchery of the modern American man.

The Marquis De Sade is also a personal favorite. Now, go to your local library of bookstore and ask for “Justine”… I Dare You.

  1. Of course the one story in which I deeply admire from the Greeks is the story of Actaeon. A hunter whom stumbles upon Artemis bathing. She, pissed off, as any natural woman would be, mostly because if she were unnatural that probably means that she spent money and would be more prone to share in her newly acquired goods – I lament – she ends up turning him into a deer and he is chased down and eaten by his own hunting dogs.

She deemed this an appropriate punishment for accidently seeing some jigglies. I am glad women have evolved. Even if it is just a little.

  3. I’m not sure I recognize the pattern here . . . but there is a pattern . . .

  4. I am going to do some quick research through the WSU database (which I still have access to) and I am going to search for a profile on my old professor Paul Brians. He devoted over 50 years of his life to the Humanities department of Wazzu and is an expert in art. I took two classes with him and his lectures were just amazing.

I don’t know what this research will detail but I might be able to make a startling conversation starter.
